Once a drive has failed, the data is inaccessible to users. Seagate has isolated this issue to a firmware bug affecting drives from these families manufactured through December 2008. Please use the following tools and instructions to determine if you have one of the affected products. If you do, we recommend that you update the firmware on the disk drive.

Saco el tema de este foro que frecuento porque el tema ya está avanzado, contiene información relevante, y además está en español.
Personalmente, no he comprado esos discos en la fecha del 'lote malo' asi que no he tenido el problema en cuestión. Si alguno de ustedes llegó a comprar esos discos, ya salió la última revisión del nuevo firmware que soluciona el problema, y al parecer sin efectos secundarios y sin errores.
